About the show

A podcast for women who built careers before the internet—and businesses in spite of it

Gen X Women in Business is a space for women who came of age in the analogue world and are now leading, creating, and reinventing businesses in a digital-first era. We talk about money, marketing, menopause, mindset, and everything in between - without pretending it’s all smooth sailing.

Who it’s for

  • Gen X and Millennial (roughly born 1965–1980; 1981 -1996)

  • Founders, freelancers, and small business owners

  • Women pivoting from corporate into their own thing

  • Service-based businesses, creatives, coaches, and consultants

What we talk about

  • The real story behind your business (not the glossy version)
  • How you attract clients and manage your energy
  • Balancing life, family, ageing parents, and ambition
  • Lessons you wish you’d known 10, 20, or 30 years ago

Why be a guest?

  • Share your business with a values-aligned audience
  • Position yourself as a thought leader in your niche
  • Gain an asset you can share across your marketing
  • Support and celebrate other Gen X women in business

What to expect as a guest

A relaxed, structured conversation—no need to be "internet famous"

You don’t need a huge following or polished media kit. We’re interested in real stories and practical wisdom from women doing the work, in their own way.

  • Interviews are typically 35–50 minutes

  • Recorded online (you just need a quiet space and headphones)

  • We’ll share a simple run sheet so you know what to expect

  • You’re welcome to gently promote a relevant offer or project

How the Expression of Interest works

Share your name and email and we will send a link to a form where will will ask you:

  • What topics or experiences you’d love to discuss

  • Your bio, socials etc and then:

  • We’ll review your submission and reach out if it’s a fit

  • If selected, we’ll confirm a recording time and next steps

Submitting this form also adds you to our email list so we can follow up with interview details and share new episodes.

Questions about being a guest?

If you’re a Gen X woman with a story to tell and a business you care about, you’re probably a great fit. Here are a few quick answers that might help:

Do I need podcast experience?

No. Many of our guests are first-time podcast guests. We’ll guide you through the process, share what to expect, and keep the conversation relaxed and supportive.

Will every Expression of Interest be accepted?

We review every submission, but we can’t feature everyone. We look for a mix of stories, industries, and topics that will be most helpful and inspiring to our audience.

Can I promote my offers or programs?

Yes, within reason. We’ll always make space for you to share how listeners can work with you or follow your work. Our priority is still a valuable, honest conversation for the audience.

How will the episode be shared?

Episodes are published to major podcast platforms and streaming services and may be shared via our email list and social channels. You’ll receive links so you can share it with your own audience too.
